Katie Grissom '20 Recruiting Profile

Ever since I began playing softball at the age of nine I have aspired to play at the collegiate level. Even at a young age I have tried to plan out my future in order to achieve this goal. I attend hitting lessons, pitching lessons, and put in work in my garage on my own time. In games, I love being the player to cheer on my teammates, pump them up during a long game, and put a smile on their faces. 

Not only is doing well on the ball field a priority for me, but doing well in the classroom is on the top of my list as well. As a freshmen at Cannon School I have been taught how to manage my time between athletics, friends, and school work in an affective way. During my freshmen year of high school I stayed on track with my studying and in doing so, earned all A's on my first report card. 

Finally, in my spare time between school and softball I love to volunteer for my community. It is so important to me to give back to the people around me. This year I have volunteered for an open house at my school, kept score at a local basketball game, helped out on the farm of Wings of Eagles Ranch, sold pretzels at Christmas in Davidson, and joined the Lake Norman Teen Council!
