Personally i play softball for my own enjoyment, its not about winning or the medals for me, its about playing for the love of the game and its simply that. There is no reason to get down on your self for a bad play or a physical/ mental error, those things happen to everyone. All you can do is get back up and do something to make it seem like that mistake never happened. As far as team goes, i believe that you should treat your team as a family. No one person should be honored or degraded, everyone should be treated equally and fairly. Also i believe that you should be cheering your teammates on no matter the circumstances. In terms of academics, i believe that they should always come first, you cant make a living off of playing softball, thus you need to apply your self to the best of your ability even if you need some extra help along the way. Lastly you should always be kind and caring towards your coaches and teammates, yes you were brought onto this team by them, but that does not mean that they could not kick you off in a heart beat for being disrespectful or unreliable.
