Nicole Brieva '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Nicole Brieva and I am a senior at Kings Park High School. I have a GPA of 93 and have been playing competitive softball for about 9 years now. Standing at 5'0" and 117 lbs I have been a starter in the Kings Park High School Varsity Softball lineup since my freshman year. As a 2009 All-League player I have earned my spot showing that I'm truly bigger than my body gives me credit for. I work out regularly throughout the year to stay in shape and although some may find it grueling, I find it quite enjoying and challenging. I am currently playing for a highly competitive team ranked at number two in the state for the preseason poll in 'Team Rankings,' the 18U Long Island Bandits Gold, coached by Rob McGinley. My primary position is shortstop however, I can play many positions on the field. I have always had a particular interest in the medical field and would like to persue a career as a Physician's Assistant. Helping people has always been my forte. I am a very determined person always looking for opportunities, as displayed when I attended the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine in the summer of 2009. In addition, I am currently an intern at a local hospital. I take both my studies and athletics very seriously and do it with the passion I have for both. I am always looking to improve and have been told I am a wonderful student on and off the softball field, tending to learn very quickly. I enjoying taking part in many of the schools activities as well. I have been a member of the orchestra since 4th grade and both the Varsity Club and SADD since my freshman year. However, the clubs I am most dedicated to are the National Honor Society where I am the Secretary, and Peer Support where I am the Vice President. In addition, I am one of three of Kings Park Central School District's Student Representatives. It is quite an honor to remain in these high positions and I'm constantly searching for a way to do even better. I would love to play softball in a college that fits my interests best financially, academically, and socially. It's my main goal: to play ball in a place I have fallen in love with.
