Softball has already taught me so many life lessons such as; teamwork, perseverance, and the importance of communication which is why I would like to continue my softball career at the collegiate level. This past season, I lead my team in all categories, both hitting and fielding, and was named All Division for the “AA” STAC Conference. I also earned MVP from my high school team during the last two seasons. I am looking for a collegiate program that is competitive, passionate, and excels in teamwork which is what made me love the game along with a coach that will continue to push and help me grow even more on and off the field. It is also important that the school has high academic expectations along with my major of interest.
Let me take a moment to tell you a little about myself, my name is Jessica Plue. I am currently a junior at Ithaca High School and part of the 2018 graduating class. I am a catcher, and play both first and third base. I have been playing competitive softball since I was 10 years old. I am currently playing for the Lady Rebels out of Horseheads, NY and have also played for the past several years with the Electric City Bombers from Upstate New York. I have been playing at the High School Varsity level since 8th grade. I played for Maple Hill High School, in Schodack, NY during my 8th grade season and at Ithaca High School since 9th grade. This past high school season I was named Captain of the varsity team as a sophomore. Not only was I chosen as our leader on the field, I acted as a leader off the field as well. I was instrumental in organizing and facilitating off-season instructional clinics to improve our program along with our area's community youth program. I assisted in designing and coordinating apparel orders to increase team spirit and participation. I created and currently manage our Twitter account to create buzz and continue to spread the word of our program. I consider myself an excelled student, a positive leader and teammate with strong focus and passion for the game.
