Adrena Daw '13 Recruiting Profile

My name is Adrena Daw.  I am 5 foot 7inches tall and 135 lbs. My sprint from home to first is less than 3.0 seconds.  I have played softball for 10 years.  I was an All Section Honorable Mention, All League, and second team All Section player. I ranked 27th in New York State for hitting in the 2011 season among all sophomores.  I was also named athlete of the week for North County News. I will be my high school team's co-captain for the 2011-12 season. I hussle on and off the field and always have a positive attitude.  I joined a team in Connecticut for the summer 2011 season and while I didn't know anyone at first, I worked to get the best out of all my teammates - encouraging them and having talks before games about how we can all work together.  I was named co-captain of the team.  I am now on the 18u hudson valley hurricanes.  It is my dream to play softball in college.  More importantly, I want to major in sports medicine and become an orthopedic surgeon.  The schools for my major tend to be in the southeast or mid-atlantic though I am open to schools in the northeast or northwest.  The size of the school does not matter to me.  My goals are to play softball in college at the highest competition level and to be a positive influence on a team.  The combination of a strong mind and a strong body is the balance I seek in pursuing my career and athletics.
