My name is Mia Pollino and I will graduate from Canandaigua Academy, New York in 2016. As a junior, this will be my third year starting on the varsity team for my high school. I also play travel softball for the Battery Lightning 18U. My goal is to play competitive softball at the collegiate level. I started to get involved in softball when I was only 5 years old, and ever since then I have been greatly influenced by it and want to continue it throughout my years in college.
Both on and off the field I am a hard worker and very competitive. I am a player who will do whatever is needed of me in order to benefit my team. One of my favorite things about softball is that it is a team sport, but you work individually to benefit the whole. While my primary positions are shortstop, pitcher, and second base, I can also play the outfield. Having a natural athletic ability, I can play almost any position asked of me. I am someone who knows how to get on base no matter how it is done, and my speed and aggressiveness are my greatest assets. I am an all-around player who is very knowledgeable of the sport, and I am looking to take it to the next level after high school.
