Jordyn Schultz '20 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Jordyn Schultz, I am 14 years old and i have completly dedicated my life to softball. To start off with a little information about myself, i recently moved from Staten Island New York to Colts Neck New Jersey. I just recently ended my freshman year at Saint Joseph by the Sea High School in Staten Island, and started my sophomore semester at Saint John Vianney High School in Holmdel NJ. It has been very challenging starting a new school and making new friends but I feel if anyone can do it, I can. And so far i am really loving it.  I received an academic scholarhsip as a freshman and I was asked to play on the Varsity team. I led the team in many offensive categories including RBI's Hits and Home Runs. As I begin my new school, I look forward to making new friends and teammates, as well as excelling in my academic studies and on the ballfield. I am also involved with a charity work group at my school entitled Ladies of Charity. We raise money through fundraisers and other events to work toward raising money for not only our school but for other charities across New Jersey. I play for New Jersey Intensity 16u travel organization. One of my main goals in life and in softball is to become committed to a division 1 university.  Coming from New York and now New Jersey, it is often difficult to be seen by division I one coaches and their staffs. But playing in college has always been a dream for me. Now that I have many more opportunities with my new teams and also to be a part of the recruiting process, i feel i can make that dream become a reality.  I would  be a good candidate for any team because I am extremely hard working and willing to do whatever it takes to play at the highest level I would like to not only show people around me that I can pursue my dreams of playing at a top university, but to prove to myself that i am capable of achieving my life long goals and aspirations. I am dedicated to my team and dedicated to become the best I can be. Last year I broke my foot and was out for the entire fall season. Even though i was incapable of playing, I still attended every practice, clinic, and game.  I consider myself different from the rest because I am a leader and I believe in the concept that attitudes are contagious and you always want yours to be worth catching. If we are losing a game I always like to cheer everyone up and get us pumped up. Also something that is very important to me is that when i am catching or in the field I am aware of my responsibility of being a leader to the rest of the team. If I have bad body language on the field I know my teammates will follow.  As well as playing softball in college,  I also have many  interests in particular majors. I would preferably like to major in Sports Medicine. I love the medical field and I enjoy learning about the various aspects of the human body. If I had another choice I would be interested in in marine biology or anythjng that has to do with the ocean. I love oceanic creatures and would like to discover the depths of the ocean and preserving marine life. These are just a few of my interests and I am definitely a work in progress. But if you choose me to be a part of your team I would try to never let you down. Specifically, I wouldn't let myself down.
