Softball and swimming are sports I have excelled in since the age of seven. Both sports have been physically and mentally challenging but they have helped me to be the person I am today. During the past three years my passion for softball outweighed swimming so in order for me to play ball year round I chose to leave my club swim team after 8 years. However, I do still compete on my high school varsity swim team. My dedication and commitment to softball is supported by my family. As the youngest of three sisters I have had the opportunity to observe challenges, obstacles and success of being a college athlete and student. I hope to follow in my sisters foot steps.
Leadership is an attribute that has driven me on and off the ball field. I am a take charge person, when I see something needs to get done I do not hesitate to jump in. As a catcher and captain I have the opportunity to assist my team on and off the field with confidence and control. I am a active member of the NHIAA Leadership committee participating in local and regional events. I have championed a NH Heart Walk Team for the past three years to raise awareness and funds for congenital heart defects.
Academics are very important to me. I push myself to excel knowing how important a good education is to my future success. I currently have an interest in health sciences taking all college prep course and will participate in the health occupation program in the Fall. This opportunity will allow me to get certified as a Licensed Nursing Assistant or an Emergency Medical Technician by the time I graduate from high school.
