Vonde Saunders '14 Recruiting Profile

Ever since I was young I watched my older sister and brother play sports. I spent endless time on the sidelines trying to understand the game as my mother coached my sisters youth softball teams. When I was finally old enough to be on my own team I felt ready and anxious to be there.

Since those days I have worked hard and committed myself to constantly improve my skills. During the off seasons I attend camps and this winter I have traveled weekly to private lessons at Frozen Ropes in Portland, ME for pitching and hitting, and I also drive to Planet Fastpitch in MA, three hours away, once or twice a month for instructions. I believe that I am a good strong team player with strong motivation and work ethics. I am always thinking of the team as a whole and looking to see how I can improve myself to contribute to the team. This year the starting varsity pitching position is open and I am hoping all my efforts prove worthy of the spot.

My goal is to play collegiate sports in a program that I hope to have an impact in.
