Personal Statement

My name is Reece DeSimone and I will graduate from High School in 2021.  This year I started at 2nd base and batted 2nd as a Freshman on my Varsity High School Team.  I have loved softball since I was six years old.   From camp MVP's almost every summer, to the top academic and character awards every school year, the love of the sport has helped define who I am.  Softball has taught me more than just being a fundamentally sound athlete.  I have learned to be a leader and to be a good teammate.  I have had to sacrifice and become self-disciplined way before many of my peers have had to.  These are all qualities that will help me become a successful college athlete and future professional.  I am a solid, consistent athlete who will work hard in any position I am put in.  Often being the youngest or smallest player on the team, I have always worked my way up the line up and have been placed where my talent is needed. My work in the weight room to strengthen and condition have not gone unnoticed and have paid off in my season.  In the last few months during school ball, I have hit consistently off of future/committed D1 recruits and have proven to myself and others that I can hang with the best.  I have considered every softball team I have played for my family and that is one of the things I love most about the sport.  Families support each other, and that is why I can play all around my city and state and look in the stands and fields and see family.  My goals are to continue playing the sport that I love and to grow my softball family at the college level.
