My name is Abby Roach, I live in White Bear Lake Minnesota. I am 13 years old. I've been playing fastpitch softball since I was 6 and I've loved it ever since. I played for White Bear Lake since I was 6 years old and now this is my first season with Minnesota Force. I want to play college softball because I think it would obviously be competitive but also fun. I also think it would not only teach me but give me the experience and good life lessons. I also want to play because it seems like a once in a lifetime experience that you can't get anywhere else.
As an athlete I think as myself as hardworking. I work as hard as I can everyday and I try to get better everyday I am on or off the field. I have a positive attitude I make a lot of people laugh and I'm always happy. I think on a college softball team that would be good to have. On the other hand I also do have goals, academic and athletic. For example, 1 goal of mine on the academic side of things is to get a 3.5 GPA or above. A goal for me on the athletic side of things is for my home to first time to be 2.8 seconds or less.
The kind of coach I would want to play for is a coach who understands each player individually. I also one who has a lot of experience, who can have fun at times, but also knows the time to be serious. I also would need a coach that listens to their players. I want to play on a college team where everything is positive, where we all get along. I don't want my teammates to only be teammates to me, I want them to be like sisters.
