Personal Statement

I fell in love with softball from my view behind the plate. As a catcher I can lead my team and develop my mental strategies of the game.  In my first year of club ball as an eighth grader, I was challenged by my coaches to redefine myself and lead my team. I gained a new perspective of fastpitch from the position of shortstop, and now from the left hand side of the plate.  Last summer was truly a challenge of new positions, but I learned patience and control, and that everything is a process. I am not an “In your face” leader, however, I lead with a hard work ethic, being a good example, and setting expectations for my team.

The high standards that I hold myself to athletically are mirrored in my view on academics. Currently, the majority of my class load is comprised of honors classes. My intention is to earn many college credits in high school while maintaining a high GPA. This is to potentially qualify for scholarships to help lessen the financial burden of college.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
