Lourena De Abreu '20 Recruiting Profile

After I had my bone marrow transplant, I needed something to do and the first thing that caught my eye was softball. Ever since then, it has been a great passion of mine and 'till this day I continue to strive for greatness. I have learned so much from this sport that I can apply to my everyday life, and I hope that I will be able to continue this learning journey throughout college.

I am always open to new ideas and I love working with others. I always strive for greatness in the classroom and on the field no matter what other things I may have going on.

On my team I was known as the fighter, because no matter how bad I thought I did, I would do everything and anything possible to recover from that. Best thing I think I can do for myself, is make the best out of my failure so that I can continue on and do the best I can, not only for myself, but for my teammates.

Academics has been something that I am also passionate about because education is the best thing a person can receive in my eyes. Education can only take you higher. Dedication and perseverance are the traits I will live by now and forever.
