My name is Macy Griffin and I am currently 13 years old. I have been playing ball since I was 5 years old. I started playing baseball with the local little league. I loved every minute of it. While playing baseball I was a pitcher, short stop and left field. I continued to play baseball with the local little league until I turned 11 years old and moved into middle school. At this time I switched to softball. I used the skills I learned when playing baseball and applied them to softball.
During my first year of playing for the school I was the 3rd baseman. After the season I started taking pitching lessons and learned to pitch. This is something that I struggled with but kept at it and practiced as much as possible. My second year playing softball for the school I was the catcher. I recently started playing for a travel team and my positions are pitcher, 3rd base and Left field.
I work hard and practice whenever I can. I don't like to do things half way so I push myself to do my best. If I don't understand something I will ask for assistance. I help others with skills when they need help and understand that we are a team and have to work together. I put others before myself and cheer for my teammates regardless of if I get to play or sit the bench.
I have not yet decided on a college major but have several options in mind. I am thinking I would like to be a teacher, marine biologist, microbiologist or a nurse. I look forward to seeing what my future holds for me.
