Personal Statement

  1.  My name is Marley Olivier,  and I am excited about going to college. After I graduate from high school, I would like to attend a four year university and major in Biology. I would like to then attend LSU Dental School and major in Orthodontist.  I would like to open up my own business either in Livingston Parish or in Baton Rouge so that I could stay close to my family. I love working with kids, and I am fascinated with the process of braces and how they shape/change one's mouth structure.  As a pitcher or a utility player, I would like to play softball for a university because I love playing softball. I always give 100% in whatever I do, and I would give that drive and determination to my future college softball team. I would like to play for a college softball team that is close to home because I am very close to my family. I have 3 younger siblings, the youngest only 1 years old. I still want to be a major part of Lana's life, so I really don't want to move across the country from home.
  2. I am a good candidate for any softball team because I am a team leader.  I have the same goals as the other team mates, to win the game and have fun doing it. I love playing softball, and everyone in the stands can see it when I pitch, when I come to the plate to hit the ball, and when I am a utility player.  I am also committed to my team, my coach and his/her vision for the team, and my team mates. I give 100% every time I step on the field, every play, all the time. I never give up because that is when the team loses.  As a team member, I am a pitcher, but I can also play any other position except catcher. I will play where ever the coach puts me, just play me and give me a try.
  3. Academically, I am an outstanding student because I have a 4.0 in school, I take AP classes where available, and I study hard and exceed all expectations. I believe that how hard I work in the classroom translates into how hard I work on the softball field. If I can not do well in the classroom because I am too lazy to do the work, then coaches would expect the same results on the softball field. I believe that coaches look at academics as a measuring tool for their athletes. If athletes cannot handle the book work, then how could they handle the field work. Athletes are supposed to be a total package, and if one wants to play on a collegiate level, one must exceed expectations. I believe I am that person. I believe that I can and do exceed expectations on the softball field, as well as, the classroom. I am a leader in class and on the softball field, and I believe that my drive and determination to be a better person translates into me working hard in the classroom as well as the softball field.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
