Lexie Storrer '16 Recruiting Profile

All little girls have big dreams.  Growing up to become a princess and marry her prince.  My dream since I have been 7 years old is to be a softball player.  I have played softball since T-ball.  There is not a day that goes by that I do not dream about playing in the College World Series and on to Team USA.  Without dreams and goals what would your life be like?

Being a competitive athlete in all I do requires work, discipline and sweat.  As a pitcher with a solid bat I practice several nights out side of team practices.  I have goals every weekend to be able to help take my club team to the championship games on Sundays.  I feel like as a pitcher it is my job to make sure I have the pitches to take my team to the next level.  After every tournament I set goals for the next tournament.  This requires me to add additional work outs with my dad or my private hitting/pitching coach.  Not only do I need the pitches but I believe it is my job to be the general on the field and in the dugout.  My teams follow my lead and I need to make sure I am in the right frame of mind to inspire them to be their best.  I commit myself to ensuring the team is acting like a team and knows that team is above the individuals that make up the spots on the field.  This requires me to practice, practice and practice more. 

This week I have the opportunity to add recruitment to my goals.  I will play softball in college.  It is a goal I plan to make happen.  I have the passion, discipline, drive and work ethic to make it happen.
