Personal Statement

Ever since I was a little girl, I have always thought on what I want to be.  A nurse, a teacher, or even an engineer.  Also what college I would be interested in. Yet, I still don't know what I am fully interested in as a career. I am still searching for what I would love to do for the rest of my life. Even though I am still looking for my dream job, I'm confident in my goals to attend college.

I consider myself blessed to have been surrounded by people to support me and encourage me to succeed in my life. From being a loving, caring, smart, funny,  young lady to a serious, hardworking, dedicated softball player, I can say it all started from a young age.  Both of my parents worked so I was at a sitters house during the day. She was a mother of two softball athletes. Both of which were inducted into the Indiana Hall of Fame for Softball. One of which I get to learn from, for she is my high school softball coach.  As soon as town ball allowed me to join at the age of 8, I was hooked. The thrill of softball has always been in my life. I could sense I was born to play the game.

Now I ask myself this question; Why would a college want me? I would like to say that my leadership and determination for success sets me apart from the other talented players. I am known for being a positive reinforcement for me teammates. Not only am I knowledgeable player, I am versatile in positions. My number one favorite position is catching. I have been catching since I started softball. I have only improved and have  become a smart aggressive catcher from the years of experience and practice. I love how I can control the game with my voice and the grip of the ball. My number two position is second base. I love how comfortable I feel there. I show confidence that I will get every single ball that comes to me. My third favorite position is outfield. Outfield to me is a position that changes the game.  I believe that you are the last line of defense. No one else is there to fix your mistake.

I have a warm personality and am so easy to talk to. I love that as I play the umps and the other teams coaches will walk over to compliment me on plays that I have made. Ways that I get chances to improve and learn is that other teams and coaches will reach out to me to help fill in. I am always asked to go to practices for pitchers or clinics to help them. They know that I encourage them to do their best,  while framing their pitches to make them look good as well. It is amazing to see how other coaches approach the game, how other teams work together. Everytime I am asked to help I jump on the opportunity for the knowledge and connections I know I will receive.

Academically I have a 4.0 GPA which I am always striving to do better. I am never satisfied with anything.  Studying more or practicing harder is what I push myself to do to improve. At my highschool, I have been able to help coach the middle school players. I enjoyed guiding them to do better. To share my talent with younger girls to love the sport as well. It also made me see the game in my coaches eyes, which gives me a different perspective of the game as I play.

In conclusion with my leadership, teamwork, mindset, determination, and the ability to play hard and never give up. I believe I will make a great addition to your team. Thank you for reading my bio.
