I've been playing softball since first grade and I have always loved the sport! I am a hard worker and am always willing to do extra work, such as staying after practice to work on more hitting or fielding. I am a flexible player and as a result, I always find a spot in the varsity line-up. My freshman year, I started out playing third base. I was also the lead-off batter, which was pretty scary considering I was only a freshman and the pitchers from other schools were all upper classmen. As the season progressed, we lost a player due to personal issues and I volunteered to take her spot. So I was then moved to short stop, where I stayed the rest of the year. My sophomore year, we lost our second baseman to due to more personal issues and that's where I played all year. This year, my junior year, I am still playing second because it has now become my favorite position. Whether it's covering first for bunt coverages, turning double plays at second, or running to catch pop-up fowl balls, I feel like at second, I am always part of the action! Hopefully, I can continue playing softball after I graduate high school and pursue a career in physical therapy!
