Katie Kilgore '18 Recruiting Profile

During the summers, starting when I was 3 years old, I would always tag along to my brother's baseball games.  Back then (and even now), I look up to my older brother.  As I got older, I remember thinking "I can do that - I can do that better!".  A spark was born in me - to work hard and succeed at my passions.  My performance is tied to my desires; not because my parents push me, not because it's a competition with my brother, but because I have my own drive and goals.  Even though I do have natural ability (academic and athletic), I know it is hard work and determination that will allow for improvement and sustain success. My utopia is at the crossroad of academia and softball, and I know I cannot get there there on my own.  My family, teachers and coaches are role models, and I would like to be given the opportunity to show my character; to show that I have listenend to all the advice, prove my work ethic, and be a valuable contributor to society.
