Personal Statement

My Name is Armani T. Procter and I aminterested in playing softball at the highest level of competition possible.  My high school and travel coaches would describe me as a  hard working, and flexible  team player who is very coachable and a fast learner.  I am 5' 5" tall, lefty who bats right with 3.32 speed to first and 13.32 secons from home to home.  While my primary position is first base, I have experience playing second and all outfield positions.  I love a challenge and would welcome the challenge of playing other positions.

As a member of my high school varsity team, I was selected MVP  three years and All Conference the past two years (2009, 2010).   My sophomore year I was selected Co-Captian of my team.  My junior year    (2011) I recorded a .597 batting average.

Over the same three years span I, also played extensively in a travel ball league.  My freshman year I playrd with the Orland Park Sparks as a young 14-U.  We attended the Northern National finish in the top 25 teams.  Following thatmoved up to 16-U, and was selected to play with the Chi-Town Express 16-U Silver.  We won the Moline Fire Cracker Tournament earning a bid to the Northern National the summer of 2010.  Also, the team placed second second in the Lafayette, IN Midnight indoor tournament earning a bid to the USSSA National Tournament, summer 2010.  I am currently playing with the Elmwood Park Lady Tigers 16-U as the starting first baseman a power hitter, batting third or fourth in the lineup.  The Lady Tigers Fall Ball record is 13 wins, 8 loses and 1 tie.

As you can see I am committed to playing the game of softball at a high level.  However, I am also just as committed to my academic success.    I have maintained a 2.888 GPA (on a 4.0 scale)through my first three years of high school.  This is due in part to my ability to carefully manage my time between the work required for my classes and  all of my softball related activities.  Being successful as a student athlete has been a challenge, but again I love a challenge.

I am open to attending college and playing softball where ever I am afforded the opportunity.  I am the daughter of a single parent with an older sister and two younger brothers, financial assistence will be a central concern in my choice of where to study and play.  Just as I have not decided on where I will attend college, currently I am unsettled on a choice of major.  I am considering Physical Education and Sport Medicine and hope to have he decision made before the end of the first quarter my senior year.

My Skills video is on line.

Thanks viewing my personal statement and I look fotward to hearing from you.
