Katelyn Ryan '13 Recruiting Profile

     My name is Katie Ryan.  I will be graduating from Batavia High School in the year 2013.  I enjoy playing softball and would like to play at the college level.  Currently, on my Wasco Diamonds travel team, I play center field.  However, I also enjoy playing the infield.  My teammates consider me to be a very hard worker.  Recently, I tied the IHSA home run record that was set in 1982 with 18 home runs during my high school season.  I was very honored to receive many awards including First Team All Conference, The Daily Herald All-Area First Team and The Sun Times Beacon News Softball Player of the Year Award.  Even though I've had success, I realize that I still have  more to learn about softball.  I'm looking for a school with strong academics as well as a softball program that can help me to reach my potential.  I would like to pursue a degree in biology at a middle to larger sized school.  Ideally, I would like to attend a school in the midwest, but would certainly consider other areas of the country.
