As I enter my senior year of high school it amazes me how fast the time has gone by. I seems like just yesterday that I was picking up a glove for the first time. Through the urging of my family and other coaches I have expanded my comfort zone learning alot along the way. Playing field hockey as the starting varsity goalie with no experience or understanding of the game was scary at first but now it is just second nature. I want to keep this up with my softball career as well. Streach myself into things that are not familiar to me so that I can grow as a player and a student. I am playing with a new group of girls this summer so I get to grow my softball family even more. Just seems like all the people I am closest to are involved in either field hockey or softball. I guess since this is where I meet the most people it makes sense. I have pushed myself academically taking AP classes whenever I can. I know I could have taken the easy route and settled for just the average courses but this is not who I am. Taking on new challanges and not being afraid. I am leaning toward Kinesioloy and exercise science for my major. As much as I love sports and athletics I just think it would be a deram come true to make this my career goal as well. Me and few of my friends all joke about how when we are done with college we will get together and coach a team. I have been told many times that I am not just an athlete but a true student of the game. Not a practice or game goes by that I do not learn something. My mom cannot understand how my dad and I can sit, watch a game and discuss it like it was some sort of classroom. Sometimes she will tell us can we just watch the game and not analyze it please. I am looking for a school that will fit my academic goals and offer me the opportunity to play ball at the same time but the academics need to be frist in line. I am the type of player that contributes any way they can. My team is my family and we all know it is family first so it is crucial that where I play this is a priority. Hopefully you are interested in adopting me as another family member into your softball organization.
Sincerely,
Rebecca
Most people just call me Becca or Becs
