Keiko (Madison) Saacke '14 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to attend a 4 year college to prepare for my future, while playing the sport that I love and experiencing life away from home.  Playing softball has taught me that discipline, hard work and good choices pay off and that will stay with me in everything I do.  My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 9 years old.  Watching her come through the years of treatments and surgeries inspires me to be a fighter like her.  She is a 6 year survivor and a completely different person now.  My grandfather's favorite saying was that "life is not a rehearsal" and my mom has since followed that mantra.  She doesn't hold back, she goes after what she wants and believes in.  I'm proud to know that I have her strength in me!
