Makaela Logan '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Makaela Logan. Currently, I am a senior at La Quinta High School in La Quinta, California. I graduate in 2012. I am 5'6" and weigh around 117 pounds. I may sound little, but I have a lot of power with my hitting (bat speed) and throwing. My sophomore year of High School I was asked to travel to New York City and play in Central Park with girls that had been picked from the Colorado Sparkler Tournament and the Las Vegas Triple Crown (Individuals) Showcase: Showcase in the City of Lights. I attended this showcase and competed against many girls around the country with as much drive as myself for Softball. In the high school season for softball and on my club/travel team, I am the first to get on the field and the first to get off. I am a leader for my peers and I often "pump up" the spirit in our dugouts in any game situation- either we are winning or losing, the game is not over until the umpire says it is. I feel I encourage my teammates to keep up their hope in situations where we are losing my an efficient amount. Even if we are winning in our game, I encourage my teammates to still keep up our spirits. For my collegiate years of softball, I am interested and open to any type of college. Even though I transfered from a Jesuit College Preparatory High School, Xavier College Preparatory High School (where the population is lower than public schools), to an IB (International Baccalaureate) school- La Quinta High School, I am open to any college interested in me or not interested in me. I am interested in majoring in Kinesiology/Sports Medicine or Business. (I am leaning more towards Kinesiology/Sports Medicine.) My athletic goals are to play at the highest competition level, to earn my spot on the team, and to be an influence to my teammates by being a leader. Ever since I was playing baseball at the age of 6 and softball at the age of 7, I have always known that softball was my passion. I always have the drive to make myself better and to train non-stop until I succeed my goals (and even then I continue to train for higher goals). I have always looked ahead to the next competition level, and playing Softball in College is the next step and also the next leap of competition. It has always been my dream to play softball in my collegiate years of my life and to keep moving ahead in competition after college. Thank you for taking the time to view my profile!
