I am not like most girls who play at a competitive level as I do. The reason is that I did not start playing softball until the summer after my 5th-grade year. Up until then, I was a competitive wakeboard where I won many state championships and, regional titles, and went all the way to nationals. I loved it but, one day I went to watch my friend's softball game and in that moment I fell in love with the sport. I first started out in the front yard with a ball and glove. By a weeks time, I had researched pitching on youtube and began to teach myself until the high school coach drove by and saw me in the rain with a broken hand trying to pitch so she offered to help. By the end of my first ever season, I was moved from the bench to the starting pitcher. I set multiple goals for myself and I make sure to achieve them. Most coaches find it hard to believe that I have only been playing for 5 years. Softball is who I am. It is a part of me. I make it a point to do strength workouts every day along with pitching and hitting drills every day. Yes, I have delt with a lot of obstacles to get to where I am now but, that is part of who I am as well. It makes me stronger, it makes me want it even more and makes it even more worth it when I achieve it and I will always achieve it. I have learned that if I fail that it will be okay because there is always a lesson to be learned and you always have a plan B. On top of softball I play basketball, cheer, a member of FCLA, BETA, HOSA, and wakeboard. My ultimate goal is to go to college and play softball why I further my education, build lifetime relationships, and see new places.
