I have been playing sports almost my whole life. Not just softball, but I also have interest in soccer, golf, and volleyball. I have played at the club level in both soccer and softball, which has helped me understand sports and life from different stand points, both physically and mentally. Yes, all these sports are different but they all have taught me the same lesson, always give your best effort and support my teammates as we cannot change the results but you can be proud of your effort and teamwork during the games. The other thing I love about sports, is if you lose a game you will learn more from a loss then a win, because you learn what you did wrong and what you can do better next time.
As a student-athlete a saying I live by is student before athlete no matter what. Education is as important to me as sports. Without education you cannot get a good job or even into a good college, especially if you give up or do not care about education in your younger years. I strive to do my best in and out of the classroom, no matter the situation. As important as sports is to me, I believe school should comes first and always will. The field I want to go into is a very hard road but I know with my work ethic and personal drive, I will excel in that field and life itself. I feel proud to be able to have this chance to go to college, go into a degree I have been dreaming of since I was 5 years old, and play softball for my college as this will give me the opportunity to not just learn inside of the classroom but also outside of the classroom in the real world of sports.
