Hi, my name is Brittany, and I have been playing organized sports for ten years (softball/soccer). I love the competition and camaraderie that comes with playing sports. The friends that I have made playing sports are the greatest friends I could ask for. Playing softball most of my life has prepared me for success and failure and it’s taught me that there are small wins even in a loss. Through softball I’ve discovered that you can’t do everything by yourself, as I previously had thought. It also showed me empathy. I learned the ability to put myself in the shoes of others around me and feel what they felt. My friends have often stated that I have an “old soul”. But, softball isn’t the only thing that has influenced me; my religion has too. I was born and raised Catholic by my mother. My faith is one of the most important things to me and I have been so lucky to be around people who accept and respect that. They understand that I have commitments to my religion and they can’t be broken. Also, my religion has helped me to make responsible decisions in my life. My biggest fans have, and always will be, my parents. I can’t count how many times they’ve been there, at my highs and at my lows. I will be forever grateful for all the opportunities they have given me every day.
Around four years ago, I fell in love with movies and I knew I wanted to go into film production. I loved the idea of being able to take people into a different world or make them feel a certain way by telling a story. Then my hobbies started to revolve around this new love. I got into photography/videography and started videoing my family and I on hunting trips. I began picking classes my high school offered that would pull me in the direction I wanted to go in.
I’ve had hardships, but not as much as most people and I am thankful for that.
