My name is Neil Reynolds and I am a sophomore at Los Osos High School in Rancho Cucamonga, California. I have been playing water polo since I was 12 years old and plan to continue to playing through college. Last year, as a Freshman, I played on the Junior Varsity team and was a team Captain. For the CIF playoffs, I was pulled up to the Varsity squad where I saw some quality playing time in each game through the semi-finals. Our 2013 team won the Division 4 CIF Southern Section Championship. As a freshman, I also competed on the Junior Varsity Swim Team in the 50 meter freestyle, 200 meter freestyle, 50 meter freestyle relay, and the 100 meter freestyle relay events. This year, our water polo team jumped up two divisions. I played on the Varsity team and we made it to the CIF Division 2 Finals where we lost 10-7 to Foothill High School. When I am not playing High School water polo, I play for Foothill Club based in La Verne, Ca. I understand the importance of academics and the part they play in achieving my life goals. I have proven this by having been awarded the Scholar Athlete award for each sport season I played at Los Osos High School. As a Freshman, I was also awarded for having the highest GPA of the Varsity squad.
My collegiate goal is to attend and graduate from a four year university. I aspire to be a great role model to others and have a very successful career. Wherever I end up attending college, I will bring hard work and leadership. Throughout my lifetime, I have always taken leadership roles on my sports teams. I was involved with school leadership teams in eighth and ninth grade and enjoyed that experience very much. I thrive in a team atmosphere and look forward to using my skills, knowledge, and leadership to help guide a university water polo team to success.
