Volleyball is at the center of my life, heart, and mind. For years now, it has been my dream to play at the collegiate level. Ever since I developed that dream I've constantly striven to achieve it, whether its going the extra mile in practice or thinking healthier about what I eat. Many, including myself, say that I’m a strong-minded and determined individual. The truth is, I love volleyball more than anyone else. I always tell my friends that I would play volleyball anytime and anywhere, even in the most unusual places. I once even played volleyball on a back-packing trip at 10,000 feet above sea level in the Rockies! Unfortunately, my school does not offer a Men’s Volleyball Team, which only motivates me to be even greater at volleyball. So instead, I manage and practice with the Women’s Team. During the summer, I play USAV Beach Volleyball and in 2017 received a bid to Sand Nationals. I was extremely sad when I was unable to compete due to a scheduling conflict, although I knew that there would be nothing stopping me by the time it rolled around again. Year-round, I play in an adult league at my local YMCA.
Currently, I am 6 feet tall with a size 14 shoe and large hands. All I ever hear is how tall I'm expected to be which gets me excited every time! My primary position is Outside Hitter but I am also a six rotation player with excellent passing skills. For my first club season at age 12 with Air City VBC, I played Libero on the 14s National Team. I am an offensive, reliable server and I do well under pressure. If needed, I can play Opposite Hitter.
Outside of volleyball, I participate in numerous activities. I am currently a Boy Scout completing my Eagle Scout requirements. As for academics, I participate in my school’s Academic Team and maintain a strong GPA. By the end of my freshman year, I had already completed all of my required math courses. I am also a member of National Junior Honor Society and when I am eligible, I will apply for NHS. I’ve participated in my school’s writing club where I have practiced for and competed at competitions and have even received awards for my writings.
