I am currently a senior in high school and am interested in pursuing a career as a speech language pediatric pathologist. I have been blessed to play a sport I love, with my club and my high school. Volleyball players are born leaders and take the high road. I see myself working with children and coaching in my adult life. I work with children in my town two nights a week. Wednesday is our recreational volleyball program which is open to all students. On Fridays, I work with multiple handicapped children in our town to teach them some volleyball basics and have fun. I began coaching our girl's volleyball team this summer to prep for the Fall and am still assisting with practice and manager during their season. I am also coaching the girl's OCVBC Fall 2017 season.
I have a long road ahead with my academics in order to achieve my goals. I am open to many types of colleges and universities but I must have a strong program for my major. Volleyball is a large part of my life. I also play for our high school, beach, attend summer camps, and an adult league in our off season. I have played on our school team for the last three years and made the Varsity team sophomore year. I am honored to be one of our Captains this past season.
I am the youngest of three children. My sister Sarah graduated from UVM last year and is attending medical school at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland to become a pediatric surgeon. My other sister Carley is attending Kutztown University for a dual degree program of Elementary Education/Special Education this fall. I am the last one to begin the process.
Pursuing my love of the sciences and volleyball in college would be a dream come true. Playing the sport I love at a collegiate level would be the ultimate dream come true. I will continue to work hard over the next year and beyond to make my desires a reality.
