Personal Statement
I understand the responsibilities and expectations of being a student athlete. My parents themselves were student athletes and both currently coach high school athletics in addition to my mother being a teacher. So I'm in the unique position to understand the opportunities and pitfalls of balancing academics and athletics from both sides of the field. I know that without a strong commitment to my studies and clear academic goals that athletics will not be enough to carry me to future success. I've already decided to pursue in Social Sciences with an emphasis in family care. Likewise, I know that in order to be a successful athlete I must commit to more than just performing on the field, I must also be part of the team community, assist and support the team staff when called upon and be a trusted teammate, to my peers.
