I am determined to be the very best I can be in the sport of running. Although I have many other goals and aspirations in the sport my biggest is to run in college. I am relatively new to the sport but have found I am quite good at it and now that I have a good idea of what I want to do in the sport I am ready to work for it. I am starting to up my mileage from six mile distance runs to seven and hopefully by the beginning of my summer training for cross country next your eight mile distance runs. I also realize that I must make my distance runs count which means I am trying to push a bit of a faster pace while still staying at distance pace and not tempo run pace. I am also incorporating different types of speed workouts instead of the same workout every time by adding more fartlek and hill workouts to my training regimine. I have talked to alot of elite runners in my area who plan to run in college to get a idea of what my training plan should be like as well. I also put a big importance on academics. I have accumulated a GPA my first quarter of 3.79, and a A- average, one of the highest in my class. Finally I think I would be a good asset to a college team because I am focused on my academic and athletic goals and ready to work hard enough to reach them.
