As I head into my senior year of high school, I find it important to challenge myself both academically and physically. I am someone who devotes my time and effort maintaining a rigorous class schedule taking multiple AP courses, while balancing a disciplined running routine. Throughout my high school career, I have earned several awards for academics, and have been recognized for my running achievements. I have always been interested in the medical field, as I am currently a certified Emergency Medical Technician and will be taking medical-related courses next year. I wish to pursue a nursing degree at a four-year college, with an opportunity to participate on the track and cross country teams. Growing up in Virginia, I have come to love the landscape and experiences of the seasons. Therefore, I would like to attend a college close to home that offers the same type of climate and terrain. On a personal note, I weigh about 120 pounds, and stand at 5'7" tall. I've enjoyed being a part of the track and cross country program for the past three years. During that time, I feel I've grown as a runner and a teammate. Our cross country team placed second in the state the past year, and our 4x800m relay placed fifth at the New Balance Indoor Nationals, earning us a title of All-Americans. I personally improved my times and my ability to balance my school work and sports. I look forward to continuing this trend in college.
