Hello, I am Lincoln Daniel of Strath Haven High School--Pennsylvania 2012 Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field State Champions. I would first off like to highlight the fact that no matter what athletic team I am a part of, I take pride in being the hardest working individual. I like to push myself further than anybody else and I have ever been and while doing this, I try my best to bring my team mates along with me. I tend to not set expectations because one of my coaches, the most rhetorical person i know, told me that you can only be disappointed when you set expectations. Rather, I tend to set my goals high, keep them in mind, and work at reaching them. I have been faced with many adversities in the earlier parts of my High School career with injuries at key points of my seasons due to a lack of flexibility; I missed out on the chance to be an All American my sophmore year due to a hamstring injury on the first day of outdoor practice four days before the National Indoor Track Meet. However, none of these adverse moments kept me down, I have enhanced my flexibility and all other aspects of my athleticism. I look to continue my track career after high school at a division 1 or 2 college as a 400m sprinter or an 800m runner.
As for what I am looking for in my college prospects, I am not yet completely certain. Nonetheless, I know that i want to go to a school on the east coast. I am looking for a college with a good track program and much school spirit. When it comes to adcademics, I am planning on majoring in Marketing.
My goals are to run at least a 47. in the 400m dash and sub 1:54 in the 800m run by the end of my highschool senior year -- this is not an expectation, rather a goal that I plan on reaching if it is the last thing I do before I graduate.
