Braxton Hood '17 Recruiting Profile

     I've played four sports since third grade , Football and cross country in the same season and basketball and Track. I look forward to the opportunity in college to just concentrate on running.  I've always thought of myself as a distance runner, but I like the idea that in college, 800 and 1500 meter runners are considered sprinters!  I want to be apart of a program where the main focus is to increase my performance athletically and competitively .  My goal is to drop my 800 time under the 1:50 barrier.  My favorite part of being apart of a track team is the comradiere  and relationships you build with teammates and coaches, especially on a relay team. 
     Being a successful track athlete is not my only goal.  I want to be a success in life.  When I was three years old I was in a wave runner accident.  The accident left me with a broken jaw , lacerated liver and multiple broken teeth. I ended up with an excellent relationship with my Pediatric Dentist and that experience stimulated my interest in being a Pediatric Dentist, for kids like me.  My education is just as important as my athletic accomplishments.  My overall goal is to find the right team with the right coach all while accomplishing my educational goals leading to a career path that is right for me.
