My name is Tyler Wukitsevits, I am in the graduating class of 2017 at South Side HIgh School in Rockville Centre, New York. I have been on the varsity track and field team since freshman year and I am interested in competing competitively in college. This past indoor winter season I competed in the 55 meter, the high jump, and the 4x200 relay. I was conference and county champion in the 55 meter, conference runner up and county runner up in the high jump, and conference champion in the 4x200. In the upcoming spring season I plan to compete in the 100 meter, high jump, 4x100 relay, and pentathlon. I have competed in the county championships in both indoor and outdoor seasons for the past two years. I have not failed to make counties in any individual event for the outdoor season in my high school career. I have improved greatly in each event every year to keep up with the high standards I set for myself. I have always been a leader on the track team and earned the respect of all my coaches.
Currently I have a 97 GPA. I am planning to graduate with an International Baccalaureate diploma which is the most rigorous course offered at my school. I plan to study engineering in college. In the fall I play on my high school varsity soccer team which helps me keep up my endurance and conditioning. I am a member of the RVC Youth Council which helps my community in many ways including planning substance free events for teens. In the summer of 2015 I attended the Nike Track and Field camp at Duke University. I worked with coach Jan Ogilvie and members of the Duke track team to help improve my high jump technique. It was a tremendous learning experience that helped me improve my jump.
I am looking to attend a college where I could succeed in my studies in engineering and make an impact on the track and field team.Event | 2016 Varsity Team |
