Since third grade I have wanted to run in the Olympics and I have worked hard ever since to get there. There is not one day that I don't think of running. It’s my life and my passion.
Running for a D1 college would move me one step closer to achieving my dream. Coming from a Jamaican background and actually residing there for three years I was introduced to track at a very young age. As we all know they’re well known for their speed and endurance on the track. My role model is Usain Bolt, which currently holds the title for the “fastest man in the world”. I call myself "bolt jr." That's what my friends also call me. I take pride in that.
I lived in NYC for 9 years, Jamaica for 3 years, and now I currently reside in Rochester NY. I have been here since 7th grade. My love for track began in 3rd grade. After finishing first on the Jamaican school ground during Annual “Sports Day”. I got my first taste of winning and the sense of freedom and accomplishment. I realized from very early on that I was very competitive and would train vigorously to stay on top. I love the competitiveness of the sport, that's what makes it so fun. You only get better. I’m a great kid, hard worker, leader, quick learner, and most importantly I’m coachable. I take all the advice from my coaches and I use it to the best of my ability. My goal is to only get better. I use my knowledge not only to perfect myself but I also lend a hand to any of my teammates when needed.
I know that I would be a great addition to any track team. No matter where I go I will make the most of it. However, going to a d1 school is my main focus right now because it will give me the exposure I need to move forward with my goals.
