My collegiate goal is to earn a scholarship to run track at a Division 1 school. I want to be an important contributor to a 4x400 team my freshman year. I am working to achieve this goal through constant training and being involved in multiple sports. During my freshman year of high school, I was a part of the team that broke the freshman 4x400 record by over 7 seconds, and I was moved up to varsity after just 2 meets. After just one varsity meet, I qualified for the Kansas Relays in 2 events: the 4x400 and the sprint medley. My sprint medley team placed 5th overall out of 45 schools.
One thing that sets me apart from other athletes is that I am dedicated to my health and overall fitness. I have never taken part in any social activities that would hurt my health or performance. By this, I mean I don't drink or do drugs like a lot of other students that are my age.
I attend one of the highest ranked high schools in the country. Academics are always the highest priority at my school. The curriculum is very tough, and I'm working hard to bring up my GPA. I have dealt with ADHD my whole life, which has taught me to find a different way to learn, to be creative, and to focus all my excess energy on athletics.
