I started running track when I was 12 years old. I've always had a passion for the sport, but after my freshman year I knew I wanted to run at the next level. I understand that training in college will be strenuous, and that the daily mileage will increase significantly; however, I'm willing to do whatever it takes to seize the opportunity to run at the collegiate level.
Not to mention, I support my teammates through everything, motivating them on and off the track. I rejoice in seeing my teammates run, providing them with feedback on how they can improve their form and technique. I look forward to making life-long friends through the sport that has molded me into the person I am today.
Academically, my current GPA is a 4.27 on a 5.0 scale, I study for upcoming tests regularly, and I'm always staying on top of my homework. In addition, I volunteer at the Northern Illinois Food Bank over the summer.
In conclusion, there's no greater feeling than competing in the state finals and watching all those long runs finally pay off. I've devoted the last six years of my life to running track, and there's nothing I desire more than a chance to run an additional four years.
