~~I like to think that I am a well rounded individual. I am very athletic and like to play a variety of sports. I started playing sports at our local YMCA at a young age. I have played baseball for a number of years. I have played on both Little League teams and travel baseball teams. I have also played basketball since I was young. I have played basketball in my community’s intramural basketball program as well as school basketball since middle school. I have been participating in track since I was in middle school. I only started participating in cross country since high school. I plan on focusing on cross country and track for the remainder of my high school years and in college. I enjoy being part of both my cross country team and my track team because there is an individual component and a team component. My goals for cross country and track are simple: to continually improve. For my senior year of track, I am going to be competing in the 200m, 400m , 800m, and 1600m. I am going to strive for a 49 second 400m and below 2 minutes for the 800m.
I am a dedicated student. I am in many weighted, and AP classes and have a very good GPA.
I am also a world traveler. As part of a student ambassador program, I have traveled to Scotland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Wales, England, Spain, France , Monaco, Vatican City, and Italy. . These trips are not just fun and games. Prior to our departure, we spend a considerable amount of time learning about the countries we will be visiting.
I also volunteer and give back to my community thru school sponsored clubs and other community activities. I most recently was an assistant basketball coach for our intramural basketball program.
Participating in sports and being a student ambassador have allowed me to meet many people and form friendships that go beyond school rivalries and national boundaries.
At this point in time, I am undecided as to my college major but I do have the field narrowed down to just a few choices. I am particularly interested in Mathematics and Computer Science. I am looking for a college where I can succeed both academically and athletically and as an individual.
