Connor Furlong '12 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'11'' 175 lbs. sprinter from Hinsdale, Illinois and will be graduating in the 2012 class. I have been running track since 7th grade, and have been a part of a competitive club team my sophomore and junior years. I have contributed to my high school track team since my Freshman year by competing on Varsity level relays and setting school records both individually as well as part of relays. My primary focus has been 200m and 400m distances. I have taken a leadership role since Freshman year in promoting and growing the track program at my high school, nearly tripling in size from 60 to almost 180 kids.

I am looking for a school with a strong balance of academics and athletics, where I would like to pursue a degree in engineering. I strongly believe in always leaving everything on the track and would like to go to a school where I will be able to continue to do so and make a strong contribution to the team, competing at the highest level available to me. I do not have a great geographic preference for schools, however I would prefer a school more mid-ranged to large, as far as size.
