I started running track in middle school where my passion for the sport began. Ever since I was a little kid, I noticed I was always faster than most of my classmates and competitors in my first sport of soccer.  I also have always loved to jump! I have always jumped over trash cans and absolutely any obstacle that has ever been in my path. When I learned to combine running and jumping, that was it, I had found my true passion, hurdles!

My long term goal is to earn a four year degree, of which I have not yet decided, and then attend flight school to ultimately fulfill my dream of becoming a commercial airline pilot. As I am just now beginning to enter my prime running zone, my more immediate goal is to take my passion for hurdles to the next level and run collegiately!

I am a humble, hard working athlete who cooperates well with my coaches and my teammates.  I am one of the leaders of my track team as last year I qualified and earned medals in all three of my events at the Hawaii State track meet - contributing to my team winning the state meet.  My Dad passed away last November and I made a promise to myself to always give 110% for him. I will continue to strive to get better and better until I am the very best that I can be in his honor.

My current goals are to run the 110 high hurdles in 14.5 seconds and the 300 low hurdles in 38 seconds. Academically, I currently have a 3.2 GPA. It was better before my Junior year, when my dad was diagnosed with cancer. As his disease progressed, resulting in his death, I had difficulty always staying focused on my academics and just could not bring two grades up from C?s.  This year, is a new year, and I am dedicated to keeping strong academically, mentally, and physically - Onip'a'a (Stand Strong) - and moving on to be the best I can be!
