Michael Morikawa '13 Recruiting Profile

The moment I stepped on a track, I knew that this was something I would love to do. I started Track and Field when i was in elementary school and have been a jumper/sprinter since. Only recently have I started hurdling. For my senior year, I want to be able to gold medal at States for the Long Jump and 300 m Hurdles. My junior year I came in 3rd in LJ and 7th in 300 m Hurdles. Over the offseason, I train hard to improve my speed, jumps, and hurdles. I make sure to stretch to give me the flexibility to go over the hurdle smoothly and jump workouts to improve my horizontal jumps. To compete in track at the collegiate level would be a dream come true. I love competition and meeting new people through track and I feel like I'm ready to work hard and compete at that level.
