My name is Brian Gendron and I am a student-athlete at The Morgan School in Clinton, CT. During middle school, I realized that my success in all the sports I played attributed to one common factor: my ability to run. My freshman year of high school, I joined the track team. I thought it would be fun and it would keep me in shape for soccer season, but I quickly realized that track would become my main sport. Running track has been the single best decision I made throughout my high school career because of all the lessons it has taught me. Track has taught me that perseverance and determination can go a long way. Track has taught me that I need to push the physical and mental limits of my body in order to achieve the goals that I set for myself. Most importantly, I have learned more about myself as an individual as a result of track.
I have high expectations for myself in the classroom as well. I am in the Honors Program, I take AP classes, and I maintain a strong GPA. I also am a part of many extracurricular activities in my school. I am in the National Honor Society and I was recently elected to be the Vice President for it during my senior year. I was the Student Body Vice President my junior year, and I will be the Student Body President during my senior year. I am in the National Spanish Honor Society, Student Leadership Society, and I am an editor for the school yearbook. I am involved in a decent amount of local community service as well, including volunteering at my church on weekends. Being a part of all of these activities has helped me to build a strong and unique character. I believe that I can be a great fit for any college program. I am a good leader, I am easy to coach, and I am willing to put forth any amount of effort necessary to help the team. Within my team, I am best known for the level to which I push myself during practices and races. I firmly believe in "leaving it all on the track" every single time I compete.
