Hi, my name is Aric Strohmeyer, yes Aric with an A ï??. I am 5'9 and weigh one hundred-thirty pounds. I started running at an early age and my dad said I would grow up to be a runner, well here I am. I ran cross country in both 7th and 8th grade ending my Junior high career with a second place at the YCAL Championships. In my first year in high school cross country I started out on the freshmen team. By the time league came around I had been promoted to the Junior Varsity team. I finish 1st out of 31 at the TCC League Championship with a time of 11:00.00 over 2 miles and 2nd out of 98 at the San Joaquin Sub-Sections meet in Angelâ??s Camp California with a time of 18:46 over 3 miles. In the week between subs and sections coach Bruns promoted me again to Varsity. At the San Joaquin Sections meet I placed 46th out of 74 with at time of 18:46, again. But what I was most proud of was that I was not only on Varsity as a freshman but that I finished with the second overall fastest time for Woodland, second only to Matt Murphy who qualified for the State meet. I really loved cross country this year. I worked hard all year long and I have always been a hard worker in all the sports I've been in. Being a freshman, I haven't decided what I want to do yet but running will always be a big part of whatever I decide to do or wherever I decide to go.
