Zack is a junior (6' 4", 220 lbs.) at Oaks Christian High School. Zack competes on the Oaks Christian Varsity Track Team and currently is one of the top Decathletes in the country. In August 2013, Zack competed at the Junior Pan Am Games in Medellin, Colombia and finished in 5th place with a score of 7097 breaking the Canadian Junior National record while recording five personal bests. In July 2013, Zack won the Canadian Junior Nationals as a Decathlete and earned a spot on the Junior Pan Am Team. In April 2013, Zack competed at the Arcadia Invitational in the Decathlon and scored 6,967 points winning a Silver Medal in a field of 27 competitors from throughout the country. This score established a new California record for Juniors and was the second highest score in state history. In March 2013, he competed at the New Balance Indoor National Championships in the Pentathlon as one of the top 15 Multi Athletes in the country. At the meet, Zack won two of the five events, Shot Put and 1000 Meters. In May 2012, Zack won the CIF Division 4 Championship in the Discus. In July 2012, Zack earned All-American honors at the USATF Youth Nationals in Arlington, Texas in the Discus and Shot Put. In April 2011 as a freshman, he completed his first Decathlon at the Arcadia Invitational two day event and was the only freshman in the competition which included the top Decathletes in the country. At the 2011 USATF Junior Olympic National Championships in Wichita, Kansas, Zack won a bronze medal while competing with a hip injury scoring 6,263 points. Zack currently holds the Freshman and Junior record in California for the Decathlon.
Zack has been competing in Track & Field and Cross Country since 2004 throughout the country in the USATF Junior Olympics, USATF Youth Outdoor Championships, AAU Junior Olympics and AAU Indoor National Championships. In Track and Field, Zack is a 12 time National Champion, 44 time All American and a member of three National Championship Cross Country teams.
In March 2013, Zack attended the L.A. Nike Football Camp, where he was named one of the Top Offensive Performers by Rivals. At the Camp, he ran a 4.57 – 40 yard dash, one of the fastest times in the country for a Tight End. In January 2013, Zack competed at the U.S. Army Underclassmen Combine in San Antonio, Texas. He was named to the Army All-Combine Offensive Team as the #2 Tight End for the Class of 2014. In his junior season, Zack played both Tight End and Wide Receiver. As a sophomore, in his first appearance on Varsity he had three receptions and scored a 41 yard touchdown. As a freshman, he started as a wide receiver on the junior varsity Football Team and was moved up to varsity as a receiver for the 2010 playoffs in which the team won the CIF Northern Division Championship. On junior varsity Zack scored several touchdowns including a team leading 81 yard touchdown reception and also played safety. He was selected to play for the West Team in the 2010 FBU Youth All American Bowl. The game was played at The Alamo Dome in San Antonio, Texas and Zack played wide receiver and was named co-captain of his team.
