I started track my freshman year and it changed my life. It has not only become a part of my life but I live to be on the track. Although I don't have the proper coaching for all of my events I do not let that stop me. I am very motivated and try to motivate everyone around me to do their best. If needed, I can take on the role as a leader in order to keep everyone in line to benefit the team as a whole. My freshman and sophomore year I did not have a proper high jump coach so I taught myself how to jump and my junior year we did not have a track and I was lucky to practice any of my events even once a week. For my upcoming senior year I decided to leave the basketball program to focus on track. With the proper facilities and coaching I expect to push myself far beyond my expectations. I won the rookie of the year for varsity my freshman year, hold the current 100m record at Segerstrom High school, won MVP for the varsity team my junior year, and was voted the top junior athlete.
