Personal Statement

Hello, my name is Jordan Venglass and I am currently a Junior (C/O 2017) at Rancho Cucamonga High-School. I pride myself in being a dedicated and hardworking student/athlete that poses a large role in the classroom as well as outside of it. I greatly believe I would be able to compete competitively at a collegiate level athletically, as well as academically. I have been throwing and jumping for the past three years, and have been fortunate enough to be able to compete at an elite youth level through USATF and AAU. I have competed at the Junior Olympics the past two years and I placed 6th place in the Javelin throw (2013) and then came back the next year and placed 3rd (2014), out of the country's top 50 youth throwers! I also have been able to qualify and compete in pole vault the past two years! In addition, I have competed at other multiple elite youth meets around the country!  I competed as a Varsity Boys Track and Field member in discus and pole vault, for my High School Team my freshman year and was able to compete at League Finals (2014). Now going into the 2016 highschool track season, I will take on the role of the jumps Captain. Outside of Track and Field, I have multiple years of leadership experience. I am heavily involved in our leadership program, Student Achievement, at Rancho Cucamonga High School. I am the Secretary of College Committee, which involves our schools relations with colleges, as well as promoting academic success and college information! I am also the Treasurer of the Anti-Bully Club (ABC) at Rancho Cucamonga High School, and we are starting to form an active role in our community. Also I am the Marketing Manager for the yearbook and also a co-design editor! I love motivating, inspiring, and assisting others in being the absolute best that they can be, as well as modeling that on an everyday basis! I am the hardest working student/athlete that you can find, that is also willing to mold into what you are looking for!
