My name is Jake Landreth and I am a senior at Ontario Christian High School in Ontario, California. I am a very driven and determined athlete and I'm ready to make an impact on whatever school I attend. Here is a little bit about me and how my season went this year:
- I was the number one runner on my team for the 3rd consecutive season.
- I was the individual league champion of my school's league for the second year in a row.
- I went on to CIF southern section prelims where I won my division 5 heat at Mt. Sac (15:49).
- I then went on to CIF southern section finals where I placed 7th in my whole division (15:59).
- After finals, I advanced to the California State Championships in Fresno where I finished 20th overall in division 5.
- My personal best time for 3 miles is 15:13.
- I was awarded my team's MVP and my leagues MVP.
- I was recognized in a local newspaper as an All-Area runner.
Although running is one of my biggest priorities, I am still very involved in other extra curricular activities at my school. I have been involved with ASB (Association of the Student Body) or student government for four years now and this year I was elected by my teachers and peers to be the Student Body President. I am very grateful to have this position because it gives me the opportunity to use my leadership skills to serve my school and my community.
I am already getting ready for my track season coming up in a couple months. My main races are the mile and the 2 mile as distance is my strength. I am looking to be around 4:25 in my mile and 9:35 in my 2 mile this year as well as make a good appearance at CIF Southern Section Finals!
