One of my goals is to run at the collegiate level. I have been running for five years now and I truly love the sport. I started running on my own just as a hobby and an after school activity as a break from everything else, and eventually it turned into a passion. I ran in several 5k races around Napa Valley and found that I was not only fairly good but also that it was something that I loved to do.
In my sophomore year, I finally decided that I wanted to take my love for running to the next level and I joined the cross country team. From the first day I joined the team, it was clear that I was significantly faster than most of my peers and I was doing significantly better than anyone else on the team in not only the league meets but also the invitational’s that my team took part in.
During the fall of my junior year I have not only improved my times but i have also taken a more active role in the leadership of the team. I was the MVP for the year and also led my team with my league finish in the top ten putting me in the first team all league category. My season ended after the section meet where I finished just outside what was necessary to move on to state.
Another goal that I have is to be successful in future endeavors. I feel that going to a college that would be a good fit for me would help me be successful for the rest of my life. In addition I would like to attend a school that helped to strengthen my knowledge and challenge me academically.
